All Selling is Social

Over the weekend I read a great article in "Entrepreneur" September 2009. The article is under the sales+talk section on page 30. Here is the article.

All Selling is Social

To perform at your highest level and enhance how you sell, you must continue to develop your emotional and social intelligence. Be open to the idea that you can improve your:

Self Awareness: The ability to read your own emotions and recognize their impact while using gut feelings to guide decisions.

Self-management: Controlling your emotions and impulses and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Social awareness: Your ability to sense, understand and react to others' emotions while comprehending social networks.

Relationship management: The ability to inspire, influence and develop others while managing conflict.

and remember, ditch the idea of being a salesperson and just be a person. That is some great piece of advice.
