Blogging, Why is it important?

Blogging, what is it a journal, a forum, a way to distribute information? A blog is anything you want it to be but more importantly it is a way of organizing, updating, and presenting information. A blog can be part of your website, it can stand alone, or you can link to it. So what are you trying to accomplish with the blog?

  • You want to be considered the go to expert in your area.
  • You want a web presence to start the process of making your phone ring or arranging a meeting face to face.
  • You want your site to help generate business.
When visitors go to your site they are researching your service or product and rarely are they ready to commit. During the early visits they don't want a phone call or email, unless they ask for it, they just want information. This is where the blog jumps into developing your web presence.

The reason a blog works so well is that it pulls in the potential customer or client into doing business with you on their terms instead of yours. Is that good, or bad, only the customer and client knows. But, in our fast paced lives and with society moving into an online relationship age, it allows the customer or client to learn about you, your personality, your service or product.

Blogging, give it a shot, it might work, it might not, but, maybe, it just might help grow your business!
